Age Limit
18/21 to 32 years as on 1st January, 2025 (post-wise as specified with admissible relaxations).
Category-wise, division-wise vacancies for Forest Guard are provided in Annexure-II for 896 posts, showing UR, ST, SC, SEBC (including women) and Ex-Servicemen vacancies for each Division / KL / WL / Circle cadre.
Candidates must have passed +2 Science from a recognized University / Institution / Board.
Must have basic computer knowledge.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 32 years as on 01 January 2025.
2. Forest Guard
Candidates must have passed High School Certificate Examination (10+) from a recognized Board / Institution.
Age Limit:18 to 32 years as on 01 January 2025, as per rules.
3. Excise Constable
Candidates must have passed +2 Examination or equivalent conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha, or any other recognized Board / Council.
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years as on 01 January 2025.
4. Odia Language Requirement
Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Odia, and must have:
Passed Middle English School Examination with Odia as a language subject, or
Passed Matriculation with Odia as the medium of instruction in non-language subjects, or
Studied Odia as a language subject in Class VII or above, or
Passed Odia Test of M.E. School Standard conducted by the School & Mass Education Department.
5. Other Eligibility Conditions
Must be a citizen of India.
Must be of good character.
If married, the candidate must not have more than one spouse living, except where permitted under applicable personal laws.
6. Sportsperson
Candidates claiming reservation under Sportsperson category must possess a valid Sportsperson Identity Card issued by the Sports & Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha.
The card must be valid on the date of application submission and a scanned copy of the original card must be uploaded online.
7. Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)
Candidates must possess a Permanent Disability Certificate / UDID Card with not less than 40% disability in the relevant category and sub-category.
Required physical standards and functional classification must be met.
Disability details must be entered correctly in the online application form.
Benchmark PwDs will be allowed 20 minutes of compensatory time per hour in the Written Test and may avail a scribe with prior permission.
8. Ex-Servicemen
Candidates must possess Identity Card / Discharge Certificate / valid defence service documents.
Must submit an undertaking that no previous re-employment under Government of Odisha has been availed.
9. Excise Constable – Medical & Physical Standards
Candidates must not have:
Knock knee, bow legs, flat foot, varicose veins
Squint in eyes, poor vision, colour blindness
Inability to flex fingers properly or any other visible deformity
Any defect in speech or hearing

Application / Examination Fee Details
As per the Odisha Payment of Recruitment Examination Fees and Refund Rules, 2025, candidates other than SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) are required to pay an Examination Fee of ₹500/-.
The examination fee must be paid online through Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / UPI using the Payment Gateway during the online application process.
Fee Exemption
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) categories are fully exempted from payment of the examination fee.
Fee Refund Policy
The ₹500/- examination fee paid by eligible candidates shall be refunded to those applicants who actually appear for the examination, after completion of the examination and verification of attendance records.
The refund amount will be credited to the same bank account or payment method used at the time of online registration.
Candidates are advised to use their own bank account or payment method to avoid any inconvenience during the refund process.
Important Notes
No refund shall be granted to candidates who do not appear in the examination for any reason whatsoever.
If the Confirmation Page is not generated after successful payment, the transaction will be cancelled automatically, and the paid amount will be refunded within 48 hours.
